Day 1 – Friday
MOSCOW Welcome to Moscow, the iconic 860 year-old capital of Russia. Upon arrival, welcome by our English-speaking assistant, who will accompany you during your private transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 – Saturday
Breakfast MOSCOW After breakfast, being your captivating half-day tour of this magnificent city, beginning with a visit to Red Square. Admire its prominent landmarks – Lenin’s Tomb and St. Basil’s cathedral, a colourful multi-domed complex whose architects were supposedly blinded by Ivan the Terrible so that they could never recreate such splendour again. Visit the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, one of Russia’s most important cathedrals, which was destroyed in Stalin’s time and restored in 1990. Visit the Novodevichy convent cemetery, the final resting place of Nikita Khrushchev, Raisa Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin amongst many other famous names. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure. We suggest a ride on the famous Moscow Metro, a palatial underground many consider to be the most beautiful in the world.

Day 3 – Sunday
Breakfast MOSCOW Breakfast at your hotel. Tour Kremlin Territory beginning with the extraordinary State Armoury; see the oldest museum in Russia and home to a vast collection of precious stones,18th and 19th-century jewellery and other priceless artefacts dating as far back as the 14th-century. It is also home to an impressive selection of carriages from the best Russian and European masters, precious fabrics, royal gala clothes and a fine collection of Fabergé eggs. Also visit two of the Kremlin’s cathedrals: Assumption, the cathedral of coronations and the burial place of religious leaders, and Archangel, the royal burial church.

Day 4 – Monday

Early afternoon, transfer to the Moscow railway station to begin your journey to St. Petersburg in Business Class with pre-reserved seating and luggage assistance. Upon arrival at St. Petersburg railway station, you will be met at the door of the train with your luggage collected for you. St. Petersburg is a mecca of cultural, historical and architectural landmarks, a proud UNESCO World Heritage Site. Private transfer to your hotel.

Day 5 – Tuesday
Breakfast ST. PETERSBURG After breakfast, begin your half-day drive through the historical city centre of St. Petersburg, seeing highlights such as Nevsky Prospect, Palace Square, the Winter Palace, the Admiralty and Vasilevsky Island. Visit the fascinating Peter & Paul Fortress, which Peter the Great built in 1703 to provide protection from the Swedes. The Fortress Cathedral is the burial place of most of Russia’s Tsars and Tsarinas from the eighteenth century onwards, including Peter the Great himself. Visit St. Isaac’s Cathedral, whose gilded dome dominates the city skyline.

Day 6 – Wednesday
Breakfast ST. PETERSBURG Breakfast. Experience the awe-inspiring Hermitage, housed in the lavishly-decorated Winter Palace. The Hermitage occupies six magnificent buildings and boasts a vast collection of no less than 3 million pieces of art from the Stone Age to modern times. The main building and largest part of the museum is the Rococo-style Winter Palace, residence of the Tsars from 1762 to 1917. In the evening, we suggest seeing a World-class opera or ballet performance in this magical city, not included.

Day 7 – Thursday
Breakfast ST. PETERSBURG After breakfast, drive to Peterhof, the great summer estate and artistic gem of Peter the Great, nestled on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. The park features numerous palaces, summer houses and pavilions; a prominent highlight is the Grand Cascade. To avoid the crowds, the Grand Palace is opened for you before official opening hours. Afterwards, you are whisked back to St. Petersburg by hydrofoil.
