After breakfast, transfer to Chichicastenango, the most colourful and picturesque open-air market in Guatemala.  Every Thursday and Sunday locals from the region gather to buy and sell fruits, vegetables, flowers, grains, animals, textiles and handicrafts.  Visit the Church of Santo Tomas and spend the afternoon at leisure. This morning you will drive through the states of El Progreso, Baja Verapaz and Alta Verapaz before arriving at the Biotopo del Quetzel, which was created for the protection of the Quetzal, the national bird; in danger of extinction. Given its location and wooded area, it presents varied fauna and flora in which you can find everything from Hummingbirds to Orioles. Continue your visit at Orquigonia, a private nature reserve dedicated to the conservation of orchids.  In the afternoon proceed to Cobán.  Check into your hotel, enjoy dinner and overnight
