Itinerary
Day 1
TORONTO – SAN JOSE – ALAJUELA Depart from Toronto to San José, the capital and largest city in Costa Rica. Meet and greet, private transfer to your hotel. Overnight at Hotel Asclepios, Alajuela.
Day 2
BreakfastALAJUELA After breakfast, you will be picked up in the lobby to take you to Grecia and visit the Metallic Catholic Church and central market. You will visit Sarchi, known as the cradle of the Costa Rican handcraft, stop at the Central Park to admire the “Giant Oxcart”, you will then have some time to visit a souvenir factory for some souvenir shopping. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon at leisure.
Day 3
BreakfastMANZANILLO – BOCAS DEL TORO After breakfast, transfer to San Jose International Airport to take a domestic flight to Bocas del Toro, Panama, transfer and overnight at your hotel.
Day 4
BreakfastBOCAS DEL TORO Breakfast at the hotel, This morning you will head towards Bahía Delfines, Admire the Caribbean Architecture of Bocas Island and its crystal clear waters. You will then depart to Coral Key to observe and learn about different types of Mangroves. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure. At around 4:30pm, you will return to Bocas Del Toro. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 5
Breakfast, LunchBOCAS DEL TORO Breakfast at the hotel. For nature lovers, we offer the ideal tour of Colón Island. Here, you can learn about the fascinating mysteries of the Neo Tropical Rainforest. After crossing the Grotto you will continue on your way to Bocas del Drago and its abundant island wildlife. Upon the arrival in Bocas del Drago, you will walk to the famous La Estrella beach, where you can swim in its natural pool, with a large population of giant sea stars. On your way back to Bocas del Drago you will have lunch. Lastly you return to your hotel for overnight.
Day 6
BreakfastBOCAS DEL TORO – PUERTO VIEJO After breakfast, transfer to Puerto Viejo, Limón. Enjoy the rest of your evening at leisure.
Day 7
Breakfast, DinnerPUERTO VIEJO Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will visit the most famous coral reef in Costa Rica, Cahuita National Park. You can go snorkeling in the most important Coral Reef of Costa Rica. We will also have the opportunity to see 35 different species of coral, 123 species of tropical fish, 3 species of sharks, 6 species of eels, 3 species of sea urchins, 140 of shellfish, 44 crustaceans, 128 types of algae, sea turtles, sea cucumbers, ocean sponges, lobster, and shrimp. You will be provided with equipment (mask, fins and snorkel tube). After Snorkeling, you will be given a tropical fruit snack and water. You will then begin the second part of the tour, which includes hiking on the trails of Cahuita National Park with your tour guide. Your tour guide will take you to different points between Cahuita National Park and Cahuita town (3.5 km) observing various types of snakes (Boas, Bocaraca, Bush Master, Eyelash Vipers, etc.) Evening at leisure at the hotel. Private dinner on the beach at Almonds and Corals Hotel.
Day 8
BreakfastPUERTO VIEJO Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Today you will visit the Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica, About 10km northwest of Cahuita bordering Río Estrella. The Arroyo family runs this private 88-hectare wildlife sanctuary, dedicated to caring for injured and orphaned sloths. Though many of the reserve's rehabilitated sloths lack the skills to return to the wild, the Arroyos have successfully released more than 130 back into the wild. You will then take a 45 minute boat ride down the river, through tropical vegetation of the Caribbean rain forest. You will then enjoy a 20 minute hike where you will see sloths, birds, butterflies, monkeys and other species in the wild.
Day 9
Breakfast PUERTO VIEJO After breakfast, enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.
Day 10
Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerPUERTO VIEJO – TORTUGUERO Breakfast at your hotel. Today you will be transferred to Tortuguero National Park. You will leave early towards the north Caribbean coast and take a boat through the rivers and canals towards the lodge. On the boat ride you will see caimans, water birds and incredible rain forest flora from the canals and lagoons. You will arrive at the Lodge around noon for lunch. After lunch, your guide will invite you to go for a hike around Tortuguero , visit the Turtles Museum ($1 donation) then come back for dinner at your hotel. Enjoy the rest of your evening at leisure.
Day 11
Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerPUERTO VIEJO – TORTUGUERO Breakfast at your hotel. Start your morning with a boat ride along the canals of Tortuguero National Park, renowned for its diverse habitats that shelter turtle, crustaceans and many fresh water fish. After lunch you are free to stroll through the grounds and explore the hotel surroundings perhaps enjoy a massage in Aninga Lodge, this SPA is a pioneer of Tortuguero and provides innovative and relaxing techniques for your body, spirit and soul. Dinner included at the lodge.
Day 12
TORTUGUERO – SAN JOSE – BOCA TAPADA Breakfast at the hotel. Today take a domestic flight to San Jose International Airport, transfer and check-in at your hotel in Boca Tapada. Evening at leisure.
Day 13
Breakfast, LunchBOCA TAPADA Breakfast at your hotel. Today we will enjoy a Tres Amigos Canoeing tour (Tree Friends), where you will have the opportunity to observe the rich flora, fauna and landscapes of this region. Some of the species you may observe are: green macaws, scarlet macaws, toucans, and water birds, you will also see different species of monkeys and crocodiles. Our tour ends with a delicious lunch at “Paso de la Lapa” restaurant. Afternoon on your own.
Day 14
BreakfastBOCA TAPADA – ARENAL Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to Arenal. Afternoon on your own.
Day 15
BreakfastARENAL Breakfast at your hotel. Today you will enjoy unobstructed views of Arenal Volcano and Lake, riding on the Sky Tram up to the area's best observation deck. You'll then ride a series of 8 zip-lines to the base of the mountain. The slow paced Sky Tram gondolas will provide a smooth ride through the rain forest, with endless views along the way, appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds you on your way to the top. Once at the observation deck, you will be able to enjoy the most magnificent views of the volcano's south face for as long as you desire. You will then gear up and get ready to ride the zip-lines down to the bottom. Your guides will provide you with a helmet, harness, and gloves, and explain the proper way to ride the zip-lines. In total, there are 8 zip-lines, the longest of which is 2,493 feet (1,250 m). This is a fun and exhilarating experience.

BreakfastMANUEL ANTONIO Breakfast at your hotel. Today you will tour Manuel Antonio National Park. It will be an absolutely unforgettable experience. Take a leisurely stroll or an intense hike with a highly trained, well-educated Costa Rican guide, through our exotic, bio-diverse tropical rain forest which has been preserved for over 40 years. Be surprised by how many different kinds of animals as well as flora and fauna you can observe in the span of a 2.5hr nature walk or hike. Whenever you are ready, stop and enjoy some local fresh fruit and refreshments as you pause to savor your adventure thus far. If you'd like, you can take additional hikes through the trails and enjoy unspoiled, un-crowded pristine beaches after your guided educational adventure ends. Learn about the history of the Quepoa Indigenous people and Costa Rica’s history in regards to the Manuel Antonio area. Return home with ideas of how to help preserve this priceless ecosystem and national treasure for future generations. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon at leisure.

BreakfastMANUEL ANTONIO – PEREZ ZELEDON Breakfast at your hotel. Today you will enjoy an authentic horseback riding tour. Embark on an unforgettable equestrian experience at Alta Gracia’s world-class equestrian center where you will get to know your horse, through unpaved trails while taking views of the Brunqueña and Talamanca Mountain ranges. Day 21
