Itinerary
Day 1
TORONTO – MANAGUA – GRANADA Fly from Toronto to Managua via a gateway in the USA. Upon arrival in Managua, welcome by our local representatives and private transfer to Granada. Enjoy the rest of your day to explore the city on your own.

Day 2
Breakfast / LunchGRANADA Breakfast at the hotel. Begin your day with a relaxing boat ride around islands in Lake Nicaragua to see the volcanic evidence and influence of the area which were formed by the impressive Mombacho Volcano. Continue on to the colonial city of Granada which was founded by Captain Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba in the year 1524. Enjoy a sightseeing tour by horse and carriage to the main plaza to begin a walking tour to see La Merced church, the famous Casa de Los Tres Mundos and the San Francisco convent. After lunch, visit the Cacao museum to learn the process of how chocolate is made from fermented organic cacao beans. At the end of the workshop, leave with a sample of your very own handmade Nicaraguan chocolate. Return to your hotel in Granada.

Day 3
Breakfast / LunchMASAYA VOLCANO, SAN JUAN DE ORIENTE After breakfast, visit Masaya Volcano National Park, which includes a beautiful volcanic lake known as the Masaya lagoon. Upon arrival, witness all the influence that volcanic activities have had in the shaping of the zone. Learn about the tectonic plates and volcanic regions of the planet; get to know the flora and fauna of this wildlife refuge. Continue to the summit of this volcano and walk a few steps to see the Santiago crater, active since 1946. Also visit the Masaya Arts and Crafts market for local ceramics, hammocks and leather souvenirs. After lunch at local restaurant, Catarina for excellent views of the surrounding water and volcano landscape. In San Juan de Oriente, visit a local house to see how they work the ceramic with their hands. Stop for beautiful sunsets, rest or have a swim at Apoyo Lagoon. Return to Granada for overnight.

Day 4
Breakfast / LunchGRANADA – MOMBACHO – AQUA WELLNESS RESORT Breakfast at the hotel. Begin your private transfer from Granada to Tola. En route, stop at the Mombacho Volcano for a nature walk. Take a 4 x 4 vehicle to the summit surrounded by exuberant vegetation and biodiversity of this natural reserve and cloud forest. Visit the biological station to enjoy a cup of coffee, followed by a Canopy Tour adventure. Lunch is served at Casa Hacienda in between activities. Continue to Tola and check-in at the Aqua Wellness Resort located on a private beach cove on Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast.
